Roasting Garlic

This is the easiest and simplest way I know how to roast garlic.

  • 1 Garlic Bulb
  • 1 Tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 sheet of aluminum foil.

Remove each garlic clove from the bulb and peel off skin. Lay the garlic on a sheet of aluminum foil so they lay flat and not on top of each other. Drizzle the olive oil over each one. Fold the bottom half of the aluminum foil over the garlic and then the top half. Be sure the garlic remains flat and not on top of each other to allow for an even cooking.

Preheat your oven to 200 degrees celsius. Place the garlic in the tinfoil on an open rack in the middle of the oven for 20 to 30 minutes.

Remove the garlic in foil from the oven and place the roasted garlic on your cutting board.

With the flat end of a knife crush the garlic. It should spread like butter now and it is perfect to spread on bread, put in sauces, spread on meats, or as part of your soup stock.
